A wedding program (also called an order of service) walks guests through your ceremony. It introduces the wedding party, lists the order of events from procession to recession, names readings and music selections, and acknowledges any cultural, religious, or family traditions. Our wedding program templates are fully editable in our free browser-based editor. No Canva account, no Photoshop, no software to install. Customize the order of events, names of the wedding party (parents, grandparents, officiant, bridesmaids, groomsmen, ring bearer, flower girl), readings and scripture, music selections, and any thank-you notes or in-memoriam acknowledgments. Whether you are searching for printable wedding programs, editable wedding program templates, a wedding ceremony program booklet, or a simple wedding order of service card, every template here is built to be customized in your browser and printed at home or at any local print shop.

Wedding programs come in three main formats. Every template in this collection is available in the format that fits your ceremony length and information needs:
All formats download as print-ready PDFs with proper bleed and margins for home printing or professional printing. Recommended cardstock weight is 80lb to 100lb in matte or smooth finish, slightly lighter than invitations because programs are meant to fold.
Wedding programs are most common at religious ceremonies, traditional weddings, and ceremonies with multiple readings, songs, or cultural elements where guests benefit from understanding the order of events. They are less common at very short non-religious ceremonies (under 15 minutes) where the order is self-explanatory. If your ceremony has named bridesmaids and groomsmen, scripture or readings, multiple musical pieces, or any cultural or religious traditions you want to acknowledge, a program adds context and gives guests a keepsake from the day. Programs are also a useful place to thank parents, recognize deceased family members (in loving memory), and credit the wedding party with their full names.
Wedding programs are part of the day-of stationery suite that includes seating charts, place cards, table numbers, food menus, and welcome signs. For your formal invitation suite, browse our wedding invitations and wedding invitation suites for a fully coordinated wedding stationery experience.
A wedding program should include the names of the couple at the top of the cover, the wedding date, the ceremony venue, the order of events (procession, welcome, readings, vows, ring exchange, declaration, kiss, recession), the names of the wedding party (officiant, parents, grandparents, bridesmaids and groomsmen, ring bearer, flower girl), any readings or scripture passages with the readers' names, music selections, and any acknowledgments (thank-you to parents, in-memoriam notes for deceased loved ones). Religious ceremonies often add prayers, hymns, and any cultural traditions specific to the faith.
Plan for one wedding program per couple or family unit, plus 10 to 15 percent extras for last-minute attendees and keepsakes. For a 100-guest wedding (around 50 households), order 60 programs. For a 150-guest wedding (around 75 households), order 90 programs. For a 200-guest wedding, order 120. Single guests can share programs with their plus-one or sit next to family. You do not need one program per guest.
The three standard wedding program sizes are 5x7 inches (single card, fits an A7 envelope if mailed but typically displayed at the ceremony), 5.5x8.5 inches finished (folded booklet, folds in half from flat 11x8.5), and 3.7x8.5 inches finished (trifold, folds twice from flat 11x8.5). Single cards are easiest to print at home. Folded booklets and trifolds give you more room for content but require careful printer setup for double-sided printing.
Wedding program and order of service are the same thing under different names. "Order of service" is the British or UK term and is also used in the United States for religious or church ceremonies. "Wedding program" is the more common term in American secular and modern weddings. Both refer to the printed piece that walks guests through the ceremony. Use whichever term feels more natural for your wedding style. Every template in this collection works equally well as a wedding program or an order of service.
Print wedding programs 2 to 4 weeks before the wedding. This timing gives you a buffer for last-minute changes (a reader pulling out, a song change, a wedding party update) and avoids printing in the final week when other wedding tasks are urgent. Wait until you have your final wedding party list and final ceremony order from your officiant before printing. If you are working with a religious officiant, share a draft program with them 4 weeks before the wedding so they can confirm the order matches their planned service.
Yes. Single 5x7 cards print easily at home on standard 80lb to 100lb cardstock with any home printer. Folded booklets (5.5x8.5 finished from flat 11x8.5) and trifolds also print at home but require double-sided printing, which means you need a printer that supports duplex printing or you need to flip pages manually. For weddings with 100+ programs, sending the file to a local print shop is usually faster and cheaper. Print shops typically charge $0.50 to $2 per program depending on format, paper, and quantity.
