A wedding thank you card is the final piece of stationery in your wedding suite, sent to every guest after the wedding to acknowledge their attendance, gift, or both. Our wedding thank you cards are fully editable in our free browser-based editor. No Canva account, no Photoshop, no software to install. Customize the thank you wording, edit names, swap colors to match your wedding invitation suite, change fonts, and add a favorite wedding photo to make the card a keepsake. Whether you are searching for printable wedding thank you cards, editable wedding thank you card templates, personalized wedding thank you cards, or DIY wedding thank you notes, every template here is built to be customized in your browser and printed at home or at any local print shop. The collection includes the standard 5x7 inch flat card and 4.25x5.5 inch folded card sizes, both designed to coordinate with the rest of your wedding stationery.
Clean lines, generous white space, and modern serif typography. Pairs with minimalist wedding invitations and suites.
Watercolor florals and soft botanicals in dusty rose, sage, and blush. Pairs with floral wedding invitations and suites.
Earthy textures, muted terracotta, and hand-drawn details. Pairs with boho wedding invitations and suites.
Formal typography and traditional layouts. Pairs with classic wedding invitations and suites.
Warm wood tones and hand-lettered scripts. Pairs with rustic wedding invitations and suites.
Every wedding thank you card template in this collection is available in two industry-standard formats:
5x7 inches flat card. Single-sided design that fits an A7 envelope. Use this size if you want the thank you card to feel as substantial as the invitation that came before it.
4.25x5.5 inches folded card. Folds in half to a 4.25x5.5 finished size, fits an A2 envelope. The inside fold gives you space for a longer handwritten message.
All templates download as print-ready PDFs with proper bleed and margins. Recommended cardstock weight is 100lb to 110lb in matte or smooth finish, the same paper as your invitation for a coordinated feel.
Wedding thank you cards are one of the few pieces of wedding stationery where featuring a photo from the wedding day works beautifully. Many couples include a favorite shot from the ceremony, the first look, or the reception. Photo thank you cards make the card feel like a keepsake guests will hold onto rather than recycle. Most templates in this collection support a photo placement, and you can swap the placeholder image for your own in the editor in seconds. If you are sending thank you cards to 100 or more guests, ordering professional prints from a local print shop or online printer typically costs less than $1 per card with a photo.
These thank you cards are built for couples who want to send a polished, personalized thank you to every guest without buying generic boxed cards from a stationery shop. Most of our customers send thank you cards within 3 months of the wedding, working through the guest list 10 to 20 cards at a time. The editable text means you can write a custom message that mentions the specific gift each guest gave, swap the photo for different shots if you want to vary the cards across friend groups, and adjust colors to match leftover wedding stationery you already have. The template scales to any guest list from 30 to 200+ since you only pay once for the editable file and print as many copies as you need.
Pick a design that matches your wedding aesthetic. Filter by style above (Minimalist, Floral, Boho, Classic, or Rustic) to coordinate with your wedding invitation suite.
Open the template in our free browser-based editor. Edit your thank you wording, names, and any custom message text in real time.
Add a favorite wedding photo if your design supports it. Drop in a portrait, ceremony shot, or candid reception photo.
Pull color codes from your wedding invitation so the thank you card matches the rest of your stationery exactly.
Choose your size (5x7 flat or 4.25x5.5 folded) and download the print-ready PDF.
Print on cardstock at home, send the file to a local print shop, or use any online printer. Send within 3 months of the wedding for any guest who attended or sent a gift.
Wedding thank you cards are the closing piece in a coordinated wedding stationery suite that started with the save the date and continued through the wedding invitation, RSVP card, and day-of stationery. For matching pre-wedding event cards, see our bridal shower invitations, bachelorette party invitations, and rehearsal dinner invitations.
If you want the thank you card pre-coordinated with the rest of your wedding stationery from the start, browse our wedding invitation sets, which are 5-piece packages that include the thank you card alongside the save the date, formal invitation, details card, and RSVP. Buying a set guarantees every piece matches and saves you the time of choosing each design separately.
Send wedding thank you cards within 3 months of the wedding. Etiquette traditionally allowed up to a year, but the modern standard is 3 months for any guest who attended or sent a gift. For gifts received before the wedding (engagement gifts, bridal shower gifts, or early wedding gifts), send the thank you card within 2 weeks of receiving the gift, even if it is before the wedding day. Working through the list 10 to 20 cards at a sitting makes the task manageable.
A wedding thank you card should open with a personalized greeting (Dear Sarah and Mike), thank the guest for the specific gift or for attending, mention how you plan to use the gift if applicable (the gift card is going toward our honeymoon), close with a personal note about your relationship or appreciation, and sign with both spouses' names. Avoid generic preprinted thank you wording when possible. Even one or two specific lines about each gift makes the card feel personal.
Yes. Send a thank you card to every guest who attended the wedding, even if they did not bring a gift. The thank you card acknowledges that they took time off work, traveled, dressed up, and celebrated with you. The wording can simply thank them for being part of your day. Skipping the thank you for no-gift guests is considered a faux pas in most wedding etiquette traditions.
Yes. Most templates in this collection support a photo placement and you can swap the placeholder image for your wedding photo in the editor. Photo thank you cards are popular because they turn the card into a keepsake. Common photo choices are a couple portrait, a ceremony shot, the first kiss, the first look, or a candid reception moment. If you order from a local print shop, photo printing typically adds less than $1 per card.
The two standard sizes are 5x7 inches (a single-sided flat card that fits an A7 envelope) and 4.25x5.5 inches (a folded card that fits an A2 envelope). The 5x7 flat card matches your wedding invitation size and feels substantial. The 4.25x5.5 folded card gives you the inside fold for a longer handwritten message. Both sizes are available for every template in this collection.
Order one thank you card per gift, plus extras for guests who attended without bringing a gift. For a 100-guest wedding, plan for 60 to 80 thank you cards (since gifts often come from couples or households rather than individual guests). For a 150-guest wedding, plan for 90 to 120. Order 10 percent extra to cover writing mistakes and any guests you forgot in your initial count.
